Mixed Media Fiber Art / Carol Ward
Blue Violet Prayers is about love, prayers and purpose..mixed media fiber art created to glorify God; created with faith, hope, love and joy.

Psalm 91:11
Psalm 91:11 , " For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go."
This mixed media piece is a visualization of one of my favorite verses in Psalm 91, verse 11. I pray this scripture over my children and grandchildren every day. I envision angels surrounding each child and watching over them, protecting them and giving them strength. This vision and truth of God's powerful angels surrounding my children and grandchildren gives me great peace.
Psalm 97
Psalm 97 is a contemporary embroidery and mixed media piece inspired by the powerful love and sovereignty of Jesus
Redeemed
Redeemed cloth...redeemed lives..
This mixed media tapestry was created with cotton sari fabrics, hand woven linen, silk and cotton threads. It is a joyful collaboration of my weaving and embroidery work with the work of women whose lives have been redeemed from the hopelessness of the slums of Kolkata through fair trade sales of their products.
This tapestry began with a piece of the blanket and reflects the beauty of redeemed cloth and redeemed lives that have been restored with faith, love and hope.

Sari Stories - Psalm 96
The inspiration for this tapestry was Psalm 96 and a sari blanket; vintage sari fabrics lovingly stitched with kantha embroidery to create a beautiful blanket. This tapestry began with a piece of the blanket and reflects the beauty of redeemed cloth and redeemed lives that have been restored and now; "Sing to the LORD a new song.."

Psalm 95
Psalm 95...."Come let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation." Morning light, hope for the new day, a new year, the joy that the sunrise brings. Praise to Him! This is the inspiration for the mixed media tapestry reflecting on Psalm 95.

Prayer Lights
"Prayer Lights" is inspired by the fervent prayers of mothers and grandmothers. Handwoven and embroidered threads are intertwined creating my vision of prayers as light beams reaching to Heaven. When I first became a mother I had this vision of my constant prayers for my babies as beautiful beams of light reaching Heaven, along with the answers to my prayers coming back to me as the beautiful light of Jesus, reminding me that indeed He knows, cares, loves and hears my prayers. As a grandmother now that vision has returned as I pray constantly for them as well as my grown up children. The prayers of mothers and grandmothers are powerful!

Psalm 19
"The heaven's proclaim the glory of God. the skies display His craftsmanship." Psalm 19 inspired this tiny tapestry. I'm in awe daily of the incredibly beautiful "paintings" in the sky God gives us. Though I can never capture His glory, my work is a reflection on Him and the beauty He has created.

Blue Green Water
Remembering the beautiful lake where I grew up.

Life Giving Waters
"On that day life-giving waters will flow out from Jerusalem...and the LORD will be king over all the earth." Zechariah 14:8-9 gives us a picture of that day when the LORD will reign. His reign begins with the cross where He sacrificed everything and rose in victory. Celebrating Jesus and the "life-giving water" He gives.

Wedding Prayers
Weddings Prayers was created as a wedding gift for two dear friends. Inspired by 1 Corinthians 13 - "faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love."

The Light, John 1:5
John 1:5 inspired this mixed media fiber art. "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it."

Fervent Prayer
Pray without ceasing… .overcoming difficulties with fervent prayer, allowing the Lord’s light to lead me deeper into His presence. This piece is about that light that draws me out of the darkness. He lifts me out of darkness and turmoil into His light and peace. praying Philippians 4:4-7 has brought me through many a dark time. “Rejoice in the Lord always……..And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
